45 MPH - 45 minutes of Music, Prayer, and Hope

Our prayer is that the worship experience will be more than just a one night stand. We hope it will invoke new insights, questions, thoughts, reflections, ideas, etc., and open your heart and mind to God throughout the week.

This page was designed to give you a flavor of our evening worship service.  Initially, we thought we would be able to update it every week, but alas, we weren't able to do this on a regular basis.  So, please consider these entries as samples of what happens on a Sunday night!

You are welcome to add your reflections and thoughts in a blog format.

And remember, you are always welcome to share your thoughts, struggles, experiences, reflections, etc., during the next worship experience.

Celebrating Our Interdependence - 7/5/2009   No, that isn't a typo - instead of "Independence", it says "Interdependence."  In the Peanuts video clip, Linus asks Charlie Brown, "What is Independence?"  He replies "To be free from influence or control of others."

As Christians, we are called to be in community which means requires that interdependence on one another.  Like it or not, we influence one another.  And we are called to be totally dependent on God!  Certainly our prayers should be for God to influence our daily lives and actions.

As we come to the end of this 4th of July weekend, may we remember the following scripture:

"….If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."  2 Chronicles 7:14

And what's the 4th of July without fireworks??   What are the fireworks in the Christian life?  Have you had some  mountaintop experiences and spiritual revivals in your life?  I hope so.  It's exciting, beautiful, breathtaking - and over all too soon.  Then comes the reality of day to day living.  But in those mountaintop experiences, we had a glimpse of heaven - a taste of what's to come!
