45 MPH - 45 minutes of Music, Prayer, and Hope
Our prayer is that the worship experience will be more than just a one night stand. We hope it will invoke new insights, questions, thoughts, reflections, ideas, etc., and open your heart and mind to God throughout the week.
This page was designed to give you a flavor of our evening worship service. Initially, we thought we would be able to update it every week, but alas, we weren't able to do this on a regular basis. So, please consider these entries as samples of what happens on a Sunday night!
You are welcome to add your reflections and thoughts in a blog format.
And remember, you are always welcome to share your thoughts, struggles, experiences, reflections, etc., during the next worship experience.

10/3/2008 - "Anger!!" What
makes you angry? What does your anger lead you to do? Have you ever
gotten so angry that you broke something? Scared yourself? Caused you
to do something that you never believed you would do? What does God
have to say about anger?
Watch a snippet of "Store" - produced by Rob Bell of www.nooma.com . "We all get angry about things from time to time –
some of us more often than others. For some of us, it feels like we’re
constantly on the brink of losing it, where it doesn’t take much to get
angry about anything. And this kind of anger can be seen everywhere we
go – at work, in traffic, at the store, at home. But what is really at
its root? Anger is often looked at as a bad thing, but are there things
actually worth getting angry about? Maybe if we had a better
understanding of our anger and where it comes from, we could learn how
to channel it towards something constructive – something that’s bigger
than ourselves."
Where does your anger lead you? Towards something productive or destructive? During our discussion time, we were reminded of the Ephesians 4:26. Here are some different translations:
Don't get so angry that you sin. Don't go to bed angry. (CEV)
Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don't use your anger
as fuel for revenge. And don't stay angry. Don't go to bed angry. Don't
give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. (The Message)
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath, (KJ21)
Anger is a big topic. What are your thoughts? What about dealing with angry people (an angry world)? What about God's anger - does God get angry with us? If God can get angry, is it okay for us, too? And what happens when we feel angry towards God? Please feel bring up this topic again during our sharing time - or to blog your thoughts.
