45 MPH - 45 minutes of Music, Prayer, and Hope

Our prayer is that the worship experience will be more than just a one night stand. We hope it will invoke new insights, questions, thoughts, reflections, ideas, etc., and open your heart and mind to God throughout the week.

This page was designed to give you a flavor of our evening worship service.  Initially, we thought we would be able to update it every week, but alas, we weren't able to do this on a regular basis.  So, please consider these entries as samples of what happens on a Sunday night!

You are welcome to add your reflections and thoughts in a blog format.

And remember, you are always welcome to share your thoughts, struggles, experiences, reflections, etc., during the next worship experience.

9/19/2008 - Is God for Real?  Is God real or a figment of our imagination???  There literally are hundreds of arguments that speak for and against the existence of God.   What do you think?  If you were at the service or are reading this, you probably believe that God exists - which then begs the question,   "But why??"

This question opened up a number of responses.  Personal experiences of not believing in God were shared during the service as well as experiences of things that happened to reverse their belief in God. Why do you believe there is a God?

It is hard to think of an ancient society or culture that didn't have a belief in at least one god (more often they believed in many gods).  Believers might say  that God is in our DNA - that there is something in us that causes us to seek and recognize God.  The twelve step program is interesting in that it bases the steps of recovery on the belief that there is a higher being:  Here are two Youtube videos to view:  Does God Exist? and Nightline's
Face-Off - Does God Exist
(we watched just a brief portion - starting around 41:50 to the end).  If you find interesting articles, books, videos on this topic, be sure to send them.
