45 MPH - 45 minutes of Music, Prayer, and Hope

Our prayer is that the worship experience will be more than just a one night stand. We hope it will invoke new insights, questions, thoughts, reflections, ideas, etc., and open your heart and mind to God throughout the week.

This page was designed to give you a flavor of our evening worship service.  Initially, we thought we would be able to update it every week, but alas, we weren't able to do this on a regular basis.  So, please consider these entries as samples of what happens on a Sunday night!

You are welcome to add your reflections and thoughts in a blog format.

And remember, you are always welcome to share your thoughts, struggles, experiences, reflections, etc., during the next worship experience.

8/29/08 - "More than Bread!"  It was an evening of asking God to lead us in song, scriptures, and sharing - and responding.   Life is more than living and working hard in order to feed ourselves bread (or meat,  or beer,  or vegetables, etc.)  The multitudes came looking for Jesus after they had witnessed the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.

In John 6, Jesus says, "In very truth, I know that you have not come looking for me because you saw signs, but because you ate the bread and your hunger was satisfied.  You must work, not for this perishable food, but for the food that lasts, the food of eternal life....I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me shall never be hungry and whoever believes in me shall never be thirsty. ... In truth, in very truth I tell you, the believer possess eternal life.  I am the bread of life.  Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert and they are dead.  I am speaking of the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat, and never die.  I am that living bread which has come down from heaven; if anyone eats this bread he shall live forever.  Moreover, the bread which I will give is my own flesh; I give it for the life of the world."

As you go through this week, work not just for the bread that will sustain your physical body, but seek the Bread of Life - Jesus- and find spiritual  fulfillment.
